Introduction to Fine Arts Pre-req
Studio Art 1 is a course
which will provide direction to students as they develop the general
basics of drawing skills into personal expressions of art and its
related art history. Understanding and open-minded appreciation of art
in its historical and cultural contexts will be used to produce informed
drawings. Students will be exposed to an array of drawing techniques to
gain an appreciation for drawing as a basis for all art making. An
emphasis will be placed on drawing as a skill that can be learned and
needs to be practiced. A majority of assignments will focus on accurate
rendering of images and realistic depiction of subject matter.
